GPT Image 2
Drop Any Product Into Any Scene With Perfect Text
GPT Image 2 is OpenAI's next-generation image model.
GPT Image 2 (also known as ChatGPT Images 2.0, model id gpt-image-2) is the successor to GPT Image 1 — OpenAI's most capable image generation system to date. Where the previous model often shipped with a warm yellow cast and broken text, GPT Image 2 delivers neutral color grading, near-perfect multilingual typography, and noticeably sharper photorealism.
Architecturally GPT Image 2 is built differently from diffusion-based generators like Flux or Stable Diffusion. It is autoregressive and natively multimodal — the same model that reads your prompt also draws the pixels, which is why GPT Image 2 follows complex instructions, renders dense compositions, and gets fine details (UI elements, packaging copy, foreign-language signage) right far more often than a typical diffusion model.
On anyscene.app you can use GPT Image 2 for both text-to-image and image-to-image generation, with output resolutions from 1K up to a true 4K, and six aspect ratios (auto, 1:1, 9:16, 16:9, 4:3, 3:4). It is a paid, commercial-use model — there is no watermark on outputs.
Six things GPT Image 2 does better
The capabilities that move GPT Image 2 from "another image model" into your daily creative workflow.
Pixel-perfect text
GPT Image 2 renders headlines, product copy, signage, comic dialogue, and even small UI labels with near-zero spelling drift. The biggest single upgrade over every prior generation.
Photorealism without filter
Skin, fabric, glass, and food look like a real camera made them. The yellow cast that haunted earlier OpenAI image models is gone.
Image-to-image editing
Drop a reference, ask for a change, get a clean edit that respects the original composition. GPT Image 2 keeps brand colors and product geometry intact.
Multilingual typography
Latin, CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean), Arabic, Hindi, Bengali — GPT Image 2 hits roughly 95% character accuracy across languages most models still butcher.
Character & product consistency
Generate the same character or SKU across multiple shots. GPT Image 2 is the first OpenAI model that holds visual identity across a series.
True 4K output
Pick 1K for fast iteration, 2K for social and web hero images, 4K for print and packaging. GPT Image 2 keeps detail at every resolution.
GPT Image 2 vs Midjourney, Flux, Nano Banana
Where GPT Image 2 wins, where it loses, and where the others are still the better pick. No marketing copy — just the trade-offs.
| Capability | GPT Image 2 | Midjourney v7 | Flux 2 | Nano Banana |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Text rendering accuracy | ~95% multilingual | ~70% English only | ~85% English | ~80% English |
| Photorealism | Excellent, neutral | Excellent, stylized | Very good | Good |
| Image-to-image editing | Native, instruction-led | Limited | Strong | Strong |
| Max resolution | 4K | 2K (upscale) | 2K | 2K |
| Generation speed | ~10–60s | ~30s | ~3–5s | ~3s |
| Best for | Product, UI, posters with text | Artistic, mood pieces | Fast iteration | Cheap drafts |
How to use GPT Image 2
Three steps. No setup, no waitlist, no API key required to try it.
Write the prompt
Describe the scene the way you would brief a photographer. GPT Image 2 follows long, detailed instructions far better than diffusion models — there's no need to compress.
Pick aspect ratio and resolution
Six aspect ratios and three resolutions (1K / 2K / 4K). Optionally upload a reference image to switch GPT Image 2 into image-to-image mode.
Generate and download
Hit generate. GPT Image 2 returns a watermark-free image you can download in PNG, with full commercial-use rights on every paid plan.

Lifestyle product shot
A premium ceramic coffee mug, matte sage green, on a sunlit kitchen counter beside a sourdough loaf and a linen napkin, morning light, shallow depth of field, photoreal product photography, neutral color grade

Multilingual poster
A minimal travel poster for Tokyo featuring the headline "東京の春" and English subtitle "Spring in Tokyo, March 2026", cherry blossoms, soft pastel palette, clean sans-serif type, 24x36 poster composition

App UI mockup
An iPhone 15 Pro screenshot of a meditation app's home screen, dark mode, today's session card titled "Morning Reset · 8 min", a soft gradient background, realistic device frame on a wooden desk, photoreal mockup

Character consistency series
Same character — a curly-haired barista in a denim apron — in three frames: pulling an espresso shot, latte art on the bar, smiling at a customer. Warm cafe lighting, candid editorial photography, consistent face and apron across frames
An honest take on where GPT Image 2 falls short
Most landing pages skip this part. We won't — picking the wrong tool wastes credits and time.
- Magazine-grade typographic posters with 30+ words — GPT Image 2 still drifts on dense typographic layouts. For poster-grade copy precision, design type in Figma and use GPT Image 2 only for the photographic layer.
- Highly stylized artistic moodboards — If you want painterly, surreal, or strongly authored aesthetics, Midjourney v7 still beats GPT Image 2 on raw artistic taste.
- High-volume cheap drafts — At 1K = 8 credits per image, GPT Image 2 is a quality tool. For 100-image batches of throwaway drafts, Nano Banana or Flux 2 are cheaper.
- Real-time interactive generation — GPT Image 2 takes 10–60 seconds depending on resolution. For sub-3-second turnaround, switch to Flux 2 or Nano Banana.
GPT Image 2 pricing
Pay per image, per resolution. Commercial use is included on every paid plan.
Both text-to-image and image-to-image are billed at the same rate. Multi-image generations multiply by the number of images requested.
